Saya, this sofabed has worked for my husband as an alternate sleep place for the last three years. He likes a firm surface. While his torso lies on one side of the split, he sometimes swings his legs diagonally to avoid feeling the "dip" down the center. To further minimize that, he tosses on top a full size latex pad from BB&B. That extra inch of foam increases the comfort level. We both enjoy it as a sofa, but it's not a "sink-into". I recommend it for its simple lines, strength, and practical features for small spaces, not for family entertainment centers. It sits low and looks best in white vinyl, which can be washed off with a mild cleaning agents and a scouring sponge (gently). The micro-fiber isn't high quality. I think a new fabric option is available now, as well as a version with arms (cheapens it in my opinion). It can't be recovered. Made in China, as predictable. The price has dropped over the years, so for under a thousand it's a good purchase. Hope this is helpful. Sandra

I use a double treatment on windows near sleep areas.
In back is a black-out shade, pulled down only at night.
In front is a Silhouette by Hunter Douglas. I love it because it offers a couple of translucency options. Light is precious and this maintains it but cuts glare when open and becomes
more opaque when closed. It's not inexpensive, but I don't
use the remote control or Power Rise version. The fabric
slats come in a multitude of neutrals, which I think you should retain for this room as well as a variety of opacities. There is a little light "bleed" with any set-in treatment, but it's tolerable. When you remove the floor lamp, soon, you can add a single horizontal piece of wall art to counterpoint the verticality of the window. No chatchkas needed. Nice job.

P.S.I wouldn't use drapes or Roman's here. Keep simplicity.

I saw a similar pendant lamp a couple of weeks ago
at Filaments on West 13th St. in NYC. Call to see if it is
still available. It is vintage. Store opens in the afternoon
and closes at 8 p.m.
