Yeah I agree with the above, a little cord camouflage goes a long way, and it's generally pretty cheap.

Not a fan of the tape deck, but camouflaging tech is always fun. As an owner of a time capsule, the only thing that springs to mind is HEAT. These suckers give off a fair amount of it depending on their use [mine serves as both a backup, router, movie server, and music hub.] He may not get enough ventilation which could potentially damage or destroy the device.
