I love Thousand Island, and it was definitely a staple at my country club growing up. But, I prefer what's known here in Mississippi as "Comeback Sauce" or "Comeback Dressing" because it keeps you coming back for more. It's kind of like a cross between a Thousand Island and a Remoulade. It is usually some variation of mayo, ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire, onion and garlic. I also like to add hot sauce, black pepper and a little mustard or sometimes some lemon juice.

I truly hope I get to retire to the country and wear beautiful English galoshes while gardening. I love Cook's Illustrated, but now I have a list of a few others to check out.

I relate to #3 -- I'm in a rut and almost always grab a hardboiled egg on the way out the door and follow later in the morning with a Larabar. I'd like more variety (maybe more make-ahead options, since I am usually pressed for time), and more fresh fruit and veggies rather than a bar.

I am so glad I joined the January Cure! My house looks better than it ever has and feels great. When I sit down to relax, I no longer have that awful feeling that I should be up doing some sort of chore or project that I've been putting off. We actually had our get together this past Monday because of schedule conflicts. It made me nervous at first to agree to a time almost a full week earlier than I had originally offered. But, because my house was feeling so much better and more organized, it was almost easy. I wasn't making any mad dashes to stash clutter behind closet doors! My husband and I both took on the cure together, so not only are we both loving the results, we're also both committed to keeping our house in order.
Thanks Janel and team! I'm going to miss those daily emails, too :-)

I feel so energized after participating in the media fast last night! I didn't think media was a big issue for me. I don't watch a lot of tv; I don't play computer games, I'm not attached to my computer -- but all of these things together definitely add up! I accomplished so much more last night than I normally would. I made some muffins from scratch, cleaned out the 3 drawers in the kitchen that I didn't get to over the weekend, tidied up the living areas of my house, and conquered the pile on my dresser and next to my bed. I still had time to settle down with a book before bed. And, the best part...I woke up refreshed and feeling great about what I was able to accomplish. Thanks January Cure!
