This is undeniably a beautiful home, but this isn't Mansion Therapy.

It completely depends on the light and the architecture of the space. For example, I used- and loved- BM White Dove in my craftsman style apartment. The vaulted ceiling and weathered gave it a almost moody presence. We just purchased a home built in the 70's,with lots of angles and open spaces. The living room is north facing, but pretty bright. I like white in the main living area, and when I put up white Dove it looked terrible... dingy and very gray. I can't stand peach/rose tones in whites, so I tried to find one with just a touch of yellow but no peachy tone, and I ended up with BM Bavarian cream. It looks fantastic in that space. So here is my conclusion: try them all, even if it means blowing some cash on quarts and painting almost a whole wall.

Being pregnant, I nap whenever I can squeeze it in. I usually wake up before I go into a deep sleep, it's like an internal alarm. I never used to nap, I felt like it interrupted the flow of the day. Once I have the baby- forget it.

I go back and forth about potted plants both on the inside and the outside of my house. I used to have allot of them on the outside due to the fact that I never had an entire yard to plant all to myself and inside because I liked a full and vibrant space. Over the years my collection has diminished because my design taste has become more pared down and minimal and because sometimes they seem, well, dirty. I currently have two plants on either side of my front door and that is enough for me. However, I enjoy a visit to a home like the one pictured above.

Sometimes I can't believe these prices... $120? Are they insane?

I have a similar set-up in my current apartment. Our bedroom is tiny, and there were two doors opposite the bed, one a closet and one is a door going to the hall way between apartments that is painted shut. One of the other walls is floor to ceiling built-ins painted white. The other two walls have large windows. I agonized over what color and painted it a light green. Like you are saying, it looked too choppy and made the room seem really small. I decided to paint it white, and painted the wall behind the bed a light green. I put white curtains on the window and it frames the bed nicely. You could move the bed under the window and try the same thing, or paint the wall opposite the doors green and the rest white.

Mrs. Mack- first, pick up the clutter! Put as much of it out of sight as you can. Then, consolidate the shelving and get rid of the one made of particle board.
Could you paint one wall, and paint it back when you move out? That place really needs some color and texture.
Other than that, I can't really tell anything more from the photos.

My friends know I am usually an early to early person, so the zombie look in my eyes usually tips them off. If not, I just announce that I want to go to bed and it usually goes over okay.

I completely agree with you, elisa and mollybb. Why should house tours just be of completely pristine homes that look like no one has ever "made footprints in the snow"? It's nice to see the lived-in quality as well.
