I think the environment you live in has to factor in to a paint's performance. I live in an area of the south with high humidity. Valspar semi-gloss is the worst paint I've ever used! I used it to paint my mantel and trim in the dining room. It took days to dry to the touch and a month before it wasn't sticky. It sagged horribly. Even 2 yrs. later, the objects on my mantel stick to the paint, sometimes pulling it off, because it just doesn't dry hard enough. It's not a good paint for humidity! Behr covers well and goes on easily, but even it's lowest sheen is too shiny for my taste.

I love SW ProClassic semi-gloss for trim! It doesn't go on like typical paint (can't lay it off and must paint in one direction only), but once you get the hang of it, it's a dream. It self-levels beautifully and doesn't sag. Plus, it dries really hard like an oil enamel and keeps its shine for years. BM Aura and SW Duration are excellent for everything else. Haven't tried SW Emerald, but I'm curious!

I love wood toys if they're truly eco-friendly! But, yowza, that first picture is an obvious strangulation hazard once the baby starts to pull himself up or if an unsuspecting caregiver uses it for standing practice. That's poorly thought-out and irresponsible design, in my opinion.

I'd love to know the source for the oil and vinegar bottles in kitchen!
