Painting the cabinets that are near the white appliances might allow you to postpone replacing the appliances for a while. They may 'disappear' and make the space more streamlined. Perhaps painting the lower cabinets a smoky grey would help to blend the countertop into the surroundings. I would paint the wall above the taller cabinets that surround the white appliances a similar hue, making the whole area rather monochromatic. I have found that painting walls different colors in a narrow space has tendency to trick the eye into seeking the space as much wider that it is. Good luck. It's a nice space.
