We bought a crate of peaches that ushered an army of them into the house. I heard of some trick with tequila and a penny in a glass with plastic wrap on top & little holes in it (didn't work.) I tried half of a lime - again in glass with plastic wrap/holes, and it worked quite well. I had collected probably 50 of them in the glass before I took it outside and opened the top. I wonder if they bred in there in addition to being lured in - either way, they were trapped. Get Rid of Fruitflies with a Homemade Fruit Fly Trap |

Wow - absolutely beautiful and inspirational design. Unfortunately, I think jcroscigno has a point about usability. Creative House: New Use for Ceramic Wine Racks Dezeen |

I agree with 580sqft & DahliaCactus - the clear winner is Vornado. While I love the vintage style of the one featured above- you can go with almost any of the other Vornado fans and get great performance, and a decade of reliable functionality. The cheapie brands are all designed to last a year or so and then get trashed. The throwaway consumer culture is not a good prospect for the future. I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get something that works better and lasts longer. Best Table Fans 2010 |

Vornado seems to have upgraded their humidifiers recently. The ultrasonic humidifer with the extra fan to circulate the humidity through the room seems especially nifty. Plus it says it will humidify 1280 sf which should definitely cover your bedroom- unless you're Don Trump I guess...
