2007 - 79th St & York Ave, Upper East Side, New York, NY - 1-bedroom (~300 sq ft), 6th floor walk-up, 15+ minute walk from the subway - $1775 all utilities included

2008-2009 - 86th St & 1st Ave, Upper East Side, New York, NY - 1-bedroom (~500 sq ft), 3rd floor elevator building - $2400

2009-2010 - 6th Ave & 13th St, Park Slope, Brooklyn - 1-bedroom railroad (~620 sq ft), 1st floor, d/w, own w/d, 200 sq ft private back yard - $2300

2010-present - Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn - 2-bedroom (~620 sq ft), entire 2nd floor of a 2-family, just renovated with tons of light - $1400 no utilities included

I feel amazingly lucky to be where I am now because I have a roommate and we split the rent 50/50, so I pay next to nothing for a gorgeous Brooklyn apartment near the subway, I never want to leave!!

So, are arco style lamps still in? I am seeing them everywhere and not knowing if they're old news or not. I like 'em, I guess.

This is a "much smaller space"? My whole apartment can fit in there! haha lucky her.

My boyfriend and I are just awful. I think it's because of our dog. We get little dust balls everywhere (also our Ikea carpet sheds, I think that contributes) and really we don't clean them up except once every few months. I never thought I was a messy person, but I guess I am and boy do I hate it!

Kyle's house is one of my all time favorites ever, I love, love that living room and those colors. Congrats on the Globe.

oh gorgeous house where have you been all my life?

I think I figured out why I don't like Halloween very much. I hate the colors! I love orange, but not candy-corn orange, and paired with black and yellow, yech! Even Christmas is tough with forest green and fire engine red. Just bad color combos, IMO!

This is only the second one so far I've liked... LOVE IT!

-Bathroom in the hallway
-No/barely there kitchen
-An apartment the size of a walk-in closet for $1400 in the UES
-When they call a strip of tenement houses "rape city" (though this one isn't true I must admit)
- 6th floor walk ups (especially because of heating, we ran the a/c all winter long, it never got cool up there, lets not even mention the summertime!)
-Really steep, narrow staircases
-Creaky floorboards are really annoying and hard to get used to
-Living in a building that's under construction, especially the apartment directly above you

Some stuff that comes to mind that sucks.
