Our living/dining room is also a library (like roslynholcomb). We have cupboards full of books and a round table that is 95% of the time a work desk and 5% of the time a place to eat (we have another table on the porch for parties and the occasional dinner).

The office supplies are scattered sneakily in the cupboards and in cute storage boxes. It's an office while still being a comfy room, libraries are awesome.

Oh, and we are kidless so that's not a problem yet! Perfect for two adults who work well together and don't need perfect silence.

We are a young and broke recently married couple. Right now, we pay 70% in rent/utilities to live where we are, but we're moving from spending 50% and another 25% in travel. Now we are paying about 5% in travel. 30% of my earnings wouldn't get us anything here that was at all in a safe area. Our new place is walking distance to free activities, less than 2 minutes away from our friends and 2 minutes to work for me.

Hopefully when my husband finishes school it will all balance out and we'll hit that 30% with a combined income! We are young, debt free and have a little savings. It's up to you to decide what's right for you now and what you are willing to give up for it (alcohol, meat, movies and other activities)!

I'm way behind at this point (still on media and the bedroom, haven't touched the kitchen yet let alone any files!) and have decided to use the cure as a guideline. Over a couple of months I will do everything on the schedule just choosing what I feel like doing that day. Having said that, I've done TONS so far! It's awesome! This has been a great kick in the butt. :)

We started doing the books a few days ago but between two avid readers and 8 years of higher education and it's accompanying texts, we still have tons. I have a big box of texts to sell and have gotten rid of a handful of paperbacks but our collection lives on. ;) We have shelves in every room and they are organised neatly by genre, they makes us happy!

The dvds on the other hand are starting to annoy me. 4 draws in the tv console, a full book shelf and a dvd rack under the couch means they are all tidy, but those stupid cases take up so much room. The hubby doesn't want to get rid of the cases though because he's worried about scratches... I shall attempt to get rid of the movies that are bad, replace the cases of the meh movies and only keep the original cases of the extra special movies and the boxed sets. Wish me luck!
