My parents made it a rule that the only TV in the house stays in the living room, and meals taken at the same time in the dining room. Those were 2 that kept it communal in our household. I don't understand why 2k feet of space to hide in will help bring the family closer.

"Now to get on my soapbox... Um, you self-righteous people who are all like "stop having children, people", "I couldn't live without my huge backyard", "gross who would ever live there and what is wrong with them", I would like to say to you that not everyone has the chance to travel and to choose where they live, and there are lots of people who would rather live in a small space close to friends and family than on a ranch in a foreign country. There is nothing wrong with that."

Yes, Sing it, sister. :)

@StudioStarter - couldn't agree more re controversial posts and topics. With so many social issues being discussed in the public sphere, people also feel the need to share and comment on them through social media. It is all well and good until you see a post supporting (or opposing) a position that you strongly believe in (for or against). In the interest of friendship I would just rather hide the comment instead of jumping in. Cute cat pictures are always good, though!

Now I think twice before posting a social commentary online. I've had 'friendly' debates with people in the past and it has indeed strained a friendship that I thought was fine regardless. I thought wrong :(

The (+) stick announcing a pregnancy. It's 'cute' (yay new baby!) but really: posting something you peed on?

I have a few thick ones (in jars and free standing), a handful of tealights in containers, and tapers. I keep a stash in a box in the living room. They're perfect for when I have guests over.

Of all the Cure tasks this month, I think the Media Fast will be the hardest to fulfill! My tablet is my media/entertainment center and I keep it on to keep me company while doing chores. I could turn off my social media feeds as a first step.

BUT I do see the wisdom of a Media Fast. Probably a good time to get started on some of the Cure projects I have lined up. Getting excited!
