Nope. As of a few weeks ago, I started getting rid of the jewel cases for my 1,500-plus CDs and started storing the discs/artwork in purpose-built cardboard boxes. What once was a mammoth display, is now neatly tucked away in a closet. I haven't listened to a CD in ages anyway. Free at last... sort of.

I'm totally on board with this, and I'm working toward finding a solution for getting rid of the 1000-plus jewel cases currently in IKEA cabinets in our den.

However, keep in mind that this particular setup makes it much easier to have all of your movies/albums/etc. stolen at once, unless you have a digital backup somewhere secure.

I think there will be a market for small music players for quite some time, though their form will certainly change. I certainly don't want to take a smartphone or full-sized iPod to the beach, on a jog or when mowing the grass, for example.

Oh, PeterJohn. The days of the specialized music studio are fading fast, my friend. Independent and major-label musicians are getting fantastic results from living room-based recording STUDIOS.

I've recorded in an expensive studio, and I've recorded at home; I prefer the latter. DIY or die.

By the way, I'm wondering if you think that Sam Beam's (Iron & Wine) first album isn't maximized for full enjoyment simply becasue it was recorded at his house on a desktop.
