Thanks, Tara! And personally, I like seeing how well-loved the pots are from their bottoms. :)

Liveblogging Day 19:
Pegboard Before & After The January Cure

Tara, I'm not a very handy person, but I'm curious - how did you hang the pegboard? I'm impressed that you even have cast iron hanging on it. I think something like this could work really well in our kitchen, which has limited space, and a wall where shelves wouldn't really work, but a pegboard might. The house has plaster walls, which I realize always complicates things, but it seems like this might be worth figuring out. :)

Pegboard Before & After The January Cure

I'm behind on a lot of things, but also out of town this whole week, so not much is getting done. Except for the little list I left for my husband. ;) Still, I've been saving all the emails for inspiration, including the ones I didn't have time to do them in the moment, and every little thing I *have* done has made a difference! Even making the bed does make a difference in my mindset whenever I walk into the room. I made a deal with my husband that the last person out of bed in the morning gets it straightened out. This means it's me 95% of the time, but at least then he'll do it the rest of the time. :)

Meg@Revamp Homegoods, I just poked through the before and progress photos on your website - what huge strides you've made! I particularly love the giant chalkboard wall in your kid's room. What a great idea. :) Thanks for sharing!

I do have a hard time letting go of books - I love having books around! But I've been doing better recently about taking books I don't think I'll read again and putting them in a pile to take in to the used bookstore. I could still do some general purging, and I certainly have some piles of CDs and magazines to work with! I'm excited about this day's task. :)

Day 12: Declutter Books & Media Apartment Therapy January Cure

My computer is my main media portal, and every once in a while I have to pull myself back from it because I start getting annoyed with how much time I spend on it (outside of work-related things). I was definitely reaching that point again, so this is a good time for a media fast!

Day 11: Try a Media Fast Apartment Therapy January Cure

I just found the January Cure a few days ago, so I don't have everything going with as much momentum as I might like. But I love all the inspiration! As a somewhat relevant project to the weekend assignment, we just got a new fridge, which I am really excited about. Our old fridge was kept in the basement, because our kitchen is small, and we only had a mini-fridge in the kitchen itself. With some reorganization, though, we figured out a way to fit a normal (but on the small side) fridge into the kitchen. And since the basement fridge was kind of crappy and falling apart anyway, we got a new fridge! So today one of the things I'm working on is getting the food moved up from the basement and into the kitchen. :)

@lavedalia, a friend of mine who used to sell appliances at Best Buy said the following when I asked him about cleaning stainless steel: "Take 10 minutes to apply some carnuba wax (yes, car wax) to your stainless fridge. It will last for years, and you simply have to wipe it down and the fingerprints come off. No special cleaner or anything is needed." I'd imagine you'd want to make sure your SS surface was clean to start with, but I was impressed that there was such an easy way to then make it easy to clean!
