I thought the first photo looked like beans soaking. I think birdbaths and fountains in gardens are really nice (and they're not uncommon, Bob Fossil) but I think there's something a little wormwood about these sinks.

We've got a maple floor in the kitchen. It was refinished a little over a year ago when we moved in and it still looks perfect. I don't think wood is any harder to keep clean than anything else and it's so much warmer than tile.

Hi Spottieottie, the step stool came from target a few years ago and I reupholstered it in a coated Marimekko fabric.

Kimm, the dining table (Bjursta table) and the bedroom curtains are both from Ikea.

Kuroneko, the blue chair was made by Thonet, although I don't know what year, and was a lucky find in a vintage store in Providence, RI.

Hi lieschenmueller, The sofa is the Petrie sofa from Crate and Barrel.

Azaleasmoke, thanks! The dining chairs are form Ikea (Roger chair) and I did reupholster them. I got the fabric from reprodepot.com. The bedroom rug is also from Ikea but I got it several years ago (2001 I think).

Hi! Sarah here. Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I'm happy there's so much orange rocker support because I made it in school (it's got some sentimental value)!

Sadly I can't tell anyone the exact paint color here because we were lucky enough to move into this place with that color on the walls already. I love it too so when it comes time to touch up or repaint I'll have to take a chip off the wall and have them match it!

kristenatcal, the rug is from West Elm.

This is just what I would want a home in Florida to look like. Beautiful!

I think the mug is made by Bodum. They make a whole line of beautiful double walled glasses. I think that the ones with handles totally defeat the purpose of the design though. You don't need a handle because the outside wall never gets hot. I have a set without handles and I love them!

I could never live with this (and I think my husband would leave me) but it's a gorgeous photo.

This could be really beautiful if incorporated into a new furniture design rather than using an existing table. Very cool idea.

It's all about personal preference. I personally don't like it, so I would paint it. Those of you who do like it, wouldn't. There's no right or wrong here...

I always like white cabinets especially with the grey counters. Then you could do something bright and cheery on the walls or just an accent wall.

I reuse bonne maman jars too. I use them for making and storing salad dressing. They're great because you just shake all your ingredients together (with the lid on) instead of stirring.

I also use old Illy coffee cans for pens, markers change...

I do use about a cup of water. I think it makes a nicer sauce. I don't peel the apples though. I just quarter them, cut out the seeds and throw them in a pot. Then when I run them through my food mill the applesauce is pink from the skins. This is the way my mother made it (which she learned from her grandmother). We also add just a few (like, 6) red hots. I guess it's all about what you grew up with.

This is similar to a Florence Broadhurst fabric with a fan pattern. Go to http://www.signatureprints.com.au/frameset_furnishings.html
and look in the "borderline collection." It's probably the most expensive route but the fabrics are gorgeous.
