I am a big fan of the 3M Command Hooks and use them all over my apartment. I will say that I've had one issue with a hook coming down but I don't know if it's because I didn't use rubbing alcohol first to clean the spot and it was the cheapest flat paint apartment landlords use in a bathroom. I have heard from a friend that she found the type of paint influenced the hooks stay-ability. Day 20: Hang Your Artwork Apartment Therapy January Cure |

To be honest, while I would love the catch-up day be for the home, I really need to catch up on things professionally. I work from home and am interviewing for an office-based job this week that would start immediately; if I get the job then I will need all the time I can get to finish my freelance contracts. This process has been fantastic. I've never felt more positive about my home (...really homes as I've bounced around) than ever before. I had to rearrange the schedule a bit and do the living room last weekend as we have a guest this weekend (and the bedroom turned into the 'catch all' including the 'outbox (2 boxes)' and 'currently being listed on ebay (about 3)' boxes. I feel so good about this, and it's helped my relationship with my husband as well; we discuss the day's task and although I'm the primary person completing the tasks we're sharing more about our vision of our home, and our lives together in it. We like that the habits we are learning now in this apartment will be carried through when/if we move onto another city or a larger space/house. I was touched when my husband brought home flowers last Friday. Day 18: Weekend Chores: Flowers, Living Room, Empty Your Outbox Apartment Therapy January Cure |

@Duff* -- I recently heard about "label once" from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDtqP6fbdAg see it at about minute 5, where you use a Sharpie Marker to write on it, and then you can 'erase' it with the eraser to reuse it. Beautifully Organized: Pantry Areas |

I took the opportunity to clean out and make room for an electric toothbrush and it's charging base in the medicine cabinet; also set it up to be able to charge while the cabinet door is closed. The other parts of my bathroom need work, including under the sink storage, but I need to keep working on the monthly project and finishing up the kitchen (which turned into a bigger project than anticipated) - very pleased with the transformations and happy to read of other's success. I love using Freedom Filer; have been using the system for nearly a year and it's helped me curb my slight paper/knowledge hoarding. I use the file boxes from the Container Store. Day 14: Get Papers & Files in Order Apartment Therapy January Cure |

Oh, and a friend recently purchased this for her no-entryway entryway so that her elderly father could put his shoes on at the door. It has a small profile. Day 9: Create a Landing Strip Apartment Therapy January Cure |

@monet419: I also don't have an entryway; opens up to the kitchen. I have a coat closet next to the door, so that takes care of the coats, but no other area for the designated 'landing strip' contents. Also looking for inspiration and ideas! Good luck. @astroande, If you have some OxyClean, try that. I've had amazing results getting out various stains on all sorts of items with it. Liveblogging Day 8: Plenty of Polenta Liveblogging the January Cure |

No worries, @nicolezh, I stumbled upon "The Cure" just two days ago and am playing catch-up too. Decided to keep original pace and try to incorporate one other tiny thing that is 'required' for the following day. If, while doing that 'extra' task I'm able to finish it without pressure or anxiety, I'll do it. I'm almost back on-target. Jennifer's January Cure: My First Week January Cure Diaries |

Great post; I see myself in this post so much, I'm just many states away from my parents house. I've postponed things because of the anxiety and fear of it not being perfect, fear that I'm not an 'expert' and therefore can't do it perfect. Laurie's January Cure: My First Week January Cure Diaries |
