I tend to keep the dust jackets if the book was a gift; I'm not really worried about resale value because the books I value the most aren't actually the books with much resale value (poetry, Torah commentary, the old paperback of Osip Mandelstam's prose...) I'm hosting three friends for Shabbat lunch - I always use the tiny size of my space as a reason not to host, but really I have (just) enough space to have a sit-down meal for four. I'm picking the poster for the children's literature events during the 2012 International Writers Festival in Jerusalem. It's cute, my favorite childhood heros are featured and best of all, it was a street poster and free. (I waited until the festival was over and took it off a fence.)
