I have never understood the obsession with shoes and purses. I have 7 pairs of shoes including winter boots and 3 purses. All of them are neutral and at least 3 years old. Yes, it's boring but I don't need to worry about creating a special place for them as they all fit in a drawer in a walkin closet which also houses my husbands clothes and a complete laundry facility. Out of season items are cleaned and packed away in a box until needed. We have better things to spend our money and time on than buying and organizing shoes and purses.
