I agree with comments about the photos on the wall. Brings up a question: what is the correct height to hang photos and wall art? I thought the height was based on the seating in the room, if that is the main purpose, e.g. living room; sit in a chair and look at the wall and hang at a height that would be comfortable tp view while seated. I think most artowrk is hung way too high for a room; I notice it a lot in the tour photos. In the end, it is up to the owner, but any comments?

A customer service phone contact I sometimes access uses oldfashioned typewriter keys sounds while they "check my record." I don't think it is cute. It is really irritating!

And, in its prior life, the "hatch" was probably a pass-through window in the wall between the kitchen and living room.

The refrigerator is most likely behind one of the doors under the counter, as many are in the UK. I agree with a high table with bar stools for dining, a kitchen area floor to blend with the carpet, and a comfy chair in the window for reading or day dreaming. What a luxury to have a bedroom big enough to build in a bigger closet! My win-the-lottery dream is to have a small flat in London and live there forever. Yes, please post more UK flats and design ideas. Thanks for the tour!

I used to collect a lot of books of my favorite authors. Too many books, too little space, so I picked my favorite book by each author, as a memento, and took the rest to the library used book sale. Now, if I want to keep a book and already have one by the author, I make myself choose which to keep. I don't tend to re-read books, and this helps me keep a happy reminder of the author without having all of the books he/she has ever written. And it made room for more new authors!

I put together my own bed/storage system in my small bedroom by placing a tall bookshelf on either side of my double bed. I used the wooden shelves that came with for the top halves and added wire shelving to bottom halves to have enough shelf space. I hung short tension rods with small vintage table cloths to cover the wire shelving. I use coordinating labeled boxes on some shelves to hold socks, scarves, smaller items, and have lots of room for books, alarm clock, etc. since I use the shelves as my night stand. Wall mounted swing arm lamp for reading is easy to reach from bed. I use the wall as my headboard. May hang artwork above the bed at some point. You could also do something like hang a valance on a tension rod between the tops of the bookshelves. Not my original idea, but I did improvise a few things for myself. I see a side view from the door as I enter the room; I like it so much I wish I could see it face-on as I enter!
