For what it's worth, I've found shopping at thrift stores and estate sales liberating. I'm much more willing to take a decorative risk on something when the price tag is ridiculously low. If it doesn't work out, then it just becomes a tax-deductible donation...or, in the case of one chain of thrift stores, my ticket to 20% savings on my next purchase. I haven't actually tried using it yet, but I'm planning on working with some origami paper that I found at the Japanese dollar store. One pack includes a variety of colors. You could also tried folded and rolled magazine pages for a different look. How To: Create Easy Rolled Paper Art |
