Love that book light! I used to love hanging over my bed as a kid reading by nightlight and this would be so cool to have.

I've been an avid follower of AT/The K for a couple years now and I have mixed feelings about the redesign. On my iPhone it looks great and is sized perfectly. On my iPad I find that I hate the new layout. Everything is smashed to the left and the advertising column feels larger than the actual article column I am trying to read.

I do give kudos for the phone comparability, but I think the tablet version needs some reworking.

I stopped using the flat sheet when I started using duvet covers as the top sheet. Never looked back. And the boyfriend doesn't mind one bit.

I love the duvet cover on the comforter and this trick. Still feels like sheets and helps me de-cat my bed twice weekly.

My main resolution for my apartment is to purge the clutter and maintain the chores. These are main two things my housemates and I are horrible at.

I didn't mean to move in with my boyfriend, but that's essentially what happened when I moved back to the Bay Area and was supposed to be living with my grandma. We got used to sleeping next to each other and have both noted on occasions when one of us is gone for the night that it felt weird to not have the other there.

While we do share a bed, we tend to be forced to our respective sides by our cat who decided she likes sleeping between our pillows. (It's really cute as she puts her head on a pillow like a person.) This allows us to pretty much sleep how we want and if we're in a cuddle mood we can just move the cat out of the way.

My roommate has one as a desk chair and had four of them as dining room chairs when he was still living with his ex. He loves them for the dining room but not as a desk chair. So if you love them, go for them as they're great quality. But I agree with the backpacking logic: if you're in doubt, hold off for a bit since they'll still be around.

Love your spot. Super cute yet practical. Also, that jewelry storage is brilliant. I've been looking for something similar for a very long time.

1) Truly glad to know what sheets not to buy in the future.

2) Slightly envious of the OP as my parents still make us sleep in separate rooms while visiting even though my bf and I have been living together for a couple years.

This is why my boyfriend and I live in Oakland. Cheaper rent ($1375 for 2 bedroom 1 bath) and there's still a million things to do, but with more parking. Plus, it's a quick trip into the City if there's anything going on across the Bay.

On a side note, Oakland has much better weather. Also a perk of East Bay living.

Tips for Touching Up Original Wood Stain? Good Questions

When we moved three months ago we didn't set up our bedframe for a week or so until we got a carpet for the room (hardwood floors are cold to the feet the in the monring) and had our mattress and boxspring sitting on the floor. I've never had a bed without a spring (used to have one with real springs rather than boxsprings when I was a kid), but the bed was way comfier just sitting on the floor. It seemed to dip less int he center and be more supportive. Since then I've been interested in trying a mattress only on slats, but that'll have to wait.

One of my best airplane boarding experiences was when my only carry on was a small purse. It was so fast and easy to board planes on that trip. Plus, I felt kind of glamourous walking down the tarmac to board. Every since then I try to have only a small carry on to make my life easier.

I don't like getting rid of my books. The rest I can shed, but books are inspiring and since I can't afford an e-reader, worth keeping.

However, I live in a small apartment with my bf and our friend so there's not enough room for my many many bookshelves. Thus I had to swindle down my library. One thing I did find helpful for this was keeping a record of what books I owned and dividing them into three categories: (re)read, in-progress, haven't read. Also, by paying attention to the books I reread helped me figure out which ones were worth keeping and which ones would make a great addition to someone else's library. After that a few trips to the local used book store and my books had a happy new home.

I used to have that mouse. It was great until my roommate knocked my laptop off the counter and the USB fob broke. Also, seems using a mouse on a plane would require more room than you usually have.
