This one shouldn't be too bad. These weekly tasks have been tough for me to get to as I usually don't get home until late after work and the files and cords probably require a whole day, but the bathroom, I think I can do tonight when I get home from work.

I have one cabinet and one small medicine cabinet that we keep pretty organized. Just a matter of throwing out/getting rid of old and expired stuff and giving the whole room a good deep clean which it really needs. I also plan on replacing the shower curtain and I need to wash the outer decorative curtain. Other then that, it is pretty good, thankfully!

Day 14: Get Papers & Files in Order Apartment Therapy January Cure

Oh Boy! I need a whole weekend for this task. This is definitely going to take me all week to sort through all the paper I have. I have a filing cabinet, and 4 plastic file storage bins to go through. I am thinking going paperless on a lot of bills may be a much better way to go now.

Love hearing everyones ideas on how they handle their paper trails. Very helpful.

Day 14: Get Papers & Files in Order Apartment Therapy January Cure

Thankfully, I am a little ahead of the game with the bedroom! On our first weekend to clean the floors, I stripped the bed, washed all the bedding including the duvet and flipped the mattress. I even cleaned under the bed! So this weekend, I will tackle the dressers, bedside tables and, if I am feeling strong enough, the closet.

I have so much stuff - clothes - that I am hoping I can start parting with half of it. I wish I had a better closet. I am in an apartment and am stuck with the old single bar and one shelf deal. I have a few bins for the self but most of the time, stuff just gets pilled on and I have so many hanging clothes that they are squished on the bar.

Anyone have any suggestions for items I could use in the closet to get organized without a whole closet redo? If I can get rid of a lot of clothes, that will help a lot but wondered if anyone else had this issue.

Good luck everyone this weekend! Another tough one for me, but if the reward is anything like when I finished my kitchen, it is going to be well worth the effort!

Day 13: Weekend Chores - Flowers & Bedroom Apartment Therapy January Cure

This feels like a monumental task but I am taking it one step at a time. I got up around 7:30 and am taking my first break for lunch now. I started with the one side of the kitchen that has the cupboards. I have a really crappy kitchen and only have 5 cupboards. I had to put up extra shelving when I moved in just for extra storage space. Cleaned out cupboards, washed and wiped down the cabinets, walls, stove, cleaned out and organized drawers and outside of fridge. For the remainder of the day, I will be finishing cleaning out the fridge, tackling the shelving unit (yikes!), small movable island and microwave stand.

I feel like I am about half way there. This is a tough job but I know once its done, it will feel like a huge accomplishment. The kitchen is the worst room for me in my apartment so once its done, it will be all downhill from here!

Thanks everyone for the inspiration and advice. It really helps to hear what everyone is doing. Very motivating!

Oh boy, the Kitchen. This is one room I dread the most but it desperately needs. I will put on some good music and just tackle one part at a time! The fridge really needs a good clean out and I know there is a lot of food I can get rid of. I am hoping I can de-clutter the dishes and appliances as my kitchen as 0 storage space and the open shelves are covered with stuff. Would be nice to get it organized with only the items we need.

My husband and I cook all the time so cooking is the easy part. And I cook a lot on the weekends so I don't have to during the week. The flowers I have are still beautifully blooming, maybe I will get something small.

It will be hard work but come Sunday night, it will be so rewarding to cross this room off my list!

Pretty much every wall in my home is covered with artwork, either a painting I made, a photograph I took or pictures of my family and friends. However, I have this one piece of artwork that for some strange reason, never had framed. It is a 11x14 caricature of my husband and I, which I love! I am finally going to get a frame for it and get it hung up! I am loving the January Cure!

I have decided to start small and tackle the top of my bedroom dresser. It is completely covered so I want to clean it off and get rid of all the makeup, hair stuff and items I don't need. I know it is a small task but once it is cleaned off, will have a huge impact on the overall feel and look of the bedroom. I am pretty excited to get it cleaned up!
