Shoot, @goddess, I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner--the paint in the living room is the same light blue that we used in the kitchen, it's just a wash over the orange-y wood, so it's looked purple after the one thin coat...

I hate the way most ceiling fans look too, so we picked ones that would blend into the ceiling--these are super inexpensive ones from Lowes I think (if not, then Home Depot).
