I may have a solution for you, hmr.
I live in a very rural place so it's takes a long time for me to drive to the nearest shop that sells flowers. If I can't make it to the store, I have planned to make my own flowers out of tissue paper and pipe cleaners. Maybe even spritz them with a little perfume for added ambiance. It's a fun and easy craft project and it will utilize the left over tissue from the holiday season. Hopefully your cats aren't drawn to tissue paper.

Another idea would be to get a glass cloche to place over a live plant or bouquet. That would be lovely.
