Every Grain of Rice is an amazing cookbook, and I'm really learning to cook rather than follow a recipe.

I'd been wanting a butter bell, but after reading these comments, I think I'll just stick with leaving it on the counter. Although, I should probably at least look into a covered butter dish. We just stick it on a small plate and leave it on the counter and have never had a problem.

My husband and I have it down pat.

Weekly meal planning using what is available in the house, followed by what's on sale at our store, sometimes preempted by what we're craving.

Then we use Grocery IQ (they have a site, plus iOS apps) with a single log in for both of us. That way we have the exact same list at all times. It lets you store different stores, organize the list by aisles, store your favorites, etc.

Once our plan is made, we check what we need against what we have and make the list. Then one of us goes to the store early on Sunday morning to get all we need through Wednesday lunch, and the other goes Wednesday after work to get what we need through Saturday night.

We prep everything for storage as soon as we get home. Doing that cuts down on waste. We're definitely improving what we're throwing out.

Emergency meals for us tend to be Whataburger. So we're not doing it perfectly 100% of the time :)

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it's gorgeous. This post was a good reminder that i want to make my first recipe from it this weekend. I'm thinking the Dan Dan noodles.

Her descriptions, photos and definitions of ingredients we don't use every day in the US are phenomenal.

It used to be McDonald's cheeseburger, fries and an orange drink. But I was sick a while back, got that and nearly gagged.

Now it's all about Asian soups: pho, tom yum, wonton, ramen, hot and sour, or even just some plain chicken broth simmered with a little ginger and green onion, splash of soy sauce.

My husband is a genius with leftovers for breakfast. He makes many things into breakfast tacos, hashes, and just great plates with eggs. Leftovers for breakfast are my favorites.

I have a feeling Matt will not be single for long now that this piece is out there. And if you are, I've got a friend that is single that lives just east of downtown with her dog that might be a good match, judging from your styles :)

By the way, I'm about to show that table to my husband. We're looking for one and that one is freakin' gorgeous.

This article and all of the comments just solidified that we need to leave Austin. This city is just too kid friendly. And hot. Seattle and SF sound ideal!

Wow, that fireplace! The whole house is just amazing. If you had told me you're going to fall in love with a Craftsman, I would have laughed at you until I saw this tour. Simply perfection.

I was just telling my husband the other day that I think the Expedit is one of the most iconic furniture pieces of our generation. While sometimes I hate it because of it's ubiquity, it's usefulness and price point cancel that out, and now we're the proud owners of two.

We just shelled out for a SimpleHuman trash can that has the bin on one side for recycling. I've wanted it forever, but never pulled the trigger. It's amazing how much better our kitchen looks with that one thing, and so far, I get happy every time I step on the thing to open it.

We have Apple TV and it works great. I use Rdio instead of Spotify or Pandora, and I can stream from my phone app to the TV.

We're going to buy ourselves something like this: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10597 and move our digital music and photo collections to it as well.

I'm going to clean out our hall closet under the stairs once and for all. Since buying this house 3 years ago, my husband and I have cleaned and reorganized it 2 or 3 times. This time, it's getting done and staying that way dammit!

For me, Pintrest is a visual bookmarking site. My friends and husband make fun of how many boards I have but it helps me in managing the links like bookmarks.

As for attributing source, pardon me if I'm confused, but I use a Pin It extension in Chrome so I'm directly linking to the original source. I rarely, if ever, repin other people's things. The whole point for me is to have a visual link to the source. Occasionally I go through and purge links that are no longer valid because they do me no good.

Mine are mostly in their original boxes with the labels out so I can tell what they are. If they come with a protective dust bag, they are in the bag, and then inside the box. If they come with paper stuffed in them, then when I put them back after wearing, I put the paper back in them as well to absorb the ick. I just don't see the need to buy new boxes when they come with them, labels and all.
