I'm 27, I received my stuffed Elmo when I was 7 years old and that thing will be in my room in some form or another until I die, it is connected one of the strongest memories of my childhood in my life, given to me when my mom went into labor with my brother and had to be taken to the hospital, leaving me still in bed. So, Elmo, kind of important.

Regardless, I am still, to this day, compelled to buy pretty much any mug I see that has Tinkerbell on it, and I'm pretty sure all my PJs are licensed wear. But I'm a giant geek, and one of the most fun ways to express my love for my pop culture geekdom is through licensed merchandise. Then again, I am the kind of person who thinks that your favorite tv shows and movies are say a lot about your personality.

Disney gets a lot of money from me every year and I'm supposedly a grown adult and have no children, now that they own Marvel I'm resigned to the fact that they will get even more of it. Also, who doesn't want to smell like an avenger?! Come on!

I think it's interesting, because I don't find anything wrong with it and for myself and my friends, we have a lot of memories and emotions tied into certain characters and stories, which gives all of those items more meaning. I collect vintage holly hobbie items because of my grandfather and because of memories of a handme down holly hobbie kitchen when I was little.

I have no excuse for the Katniss barbie though.
