These are great tips from one and all. I cannot have furry pets because of allergies, but I'm tempted to send this anonymously to certain friends of mine.

My sensitivity to pet smells is very, very high and as someone who works with a realtor when showing new listings, I can almost always detect a doggie odor or eau de chien no matter how faint. A dead-giveaway? Febreze and all those awful masking scents. (These also sicken me.)

The few times I was pleasantly surprised to enter a home with dogs or cats where I could not notice any odor were those whose owners kept their pets outside and windows open for fresh air, whenever feasible.

That is the way my Mom made it and I loved, loved, loved it and still do. Celery is the key; adds a lovely crunch and elusive flavor. Occasionally, she'd add fresh chopped green bell pepper. Again, the crunch factor.

Nowadays, I'll add crumbled bacon. I like lots of crunchy texture to offset the extreme creaminess of the egg-mayo base. Oh, and it must be served on fresh bakery rye bread with lots of lettuce and tomato.

Yes to the micro-cook method also.

Wonderful idea. Just got to figure out where to put it: it's the perfect grazing height for deer!
