I've roomed with two exes, but many years after we broke up (3+). It was no different than normal roommates, although one would occasionally try to get laid (which was okay by me). Roomies with an Ex? |

Ranch house is my favorite style, as long as it's done right. I love the walls of windows and the openness of them. Reconsidering the Ranch House |

My bedroom is 10x9 and it really bothers me. I can barely fit a queen bed, 2 small night stands, and some dressers. I have 1 foot of walking space between the foot of my bed and my dressers. I'm trying to find a new bed just so I can gain a few inches in each direction. Small Sleeping Spaces |

Aren't there hinges that don't stick out like that? I feel like they could be hidden better. Aside from that it's a brilliant idea. Before & After: Kristen's Seating Area |

In the example I would just buy a wider appliance. Many situations you can get away with some improvisation, but that just looks bad. A stainless hood and a not-quite-full-width white stove? Seems like there is some backstory here. 3 Ways to Deal With Gaps Next to Appliances |

I replaced all my switches with the first one up there and love them. I also have the one with the remote in my bedroom so I can control the lights from bed. It's amazing for a little money spent on light switches can do for a place. Lutron Electronics: Dimmers & Lighting Controls |

kamikaze, I was actually wanting to clamp it vertically to the side of the shelf unit, not onto one of the horizontal shelves...the more I think about it, the less I think it's a good idea. It seems like the clamp could slip and my monitor would come down. Desktop Monitor Arms Roundup | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |

I have the Expedit bookshelf/desk from IKEA. Is it safe to get am arm that grips the outer edge of the bookshelf (NOT the desk)? I'm afraid of crushing my particle-board furniture and dropping my monitor in the process. Also, do the arms go sideways like that? Desktop Monitor Arms Roundup | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |

Trish, in my condo building we're not allowed to mount speakers (or TVs with speakers) on shared walls. You might want to look into the rules of your building to see if something can be done about your problem. Wall Mounted vs On A Stand: TV Display Options | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |
