My machine is a Viking 6690, which was my grandmother's. My recommendation for people new to sewing is to read the manual first and get a basic understanding of how the machine works. This helped me troubleshoot a problem I was having and allowed me to re-time my shuttle.

I have to advocate for Hart's Fabric! It's a local shop to me, but they have such a beautiful and eclectic selection of fabric for sale online as well. http://www.hartsfabric.com/

Doxies and squirrels, all in one day?! My two favorite animals!

I forget where I saw it, but someone had two prints hung one above the other. One was the the snout/first half of the dachshund, the other was the tail end of the dog. It looked really great!

Our kitchen is a;ready 80% in line with the tasks above... so I'm going to work on one of my projects, a spice storage solution. The spices are about 10%, then the other 10% I'll peak in cabinets and get rid of anything we don't need / haven't used since I moved in.
Also, flowers. my current ones are looking scraggly.

Here's mine - my boyfriend and I currently have a second bedroom that's a tool shop/vanity/my clothes/storage, and I'm having a hard time determining how to clean it up. There's not enough storage space in that room without it just looking like a storage locker. Any tips?

Entry:
-Declutter cork board
-File away papers in inbox
-Create coupon file system (currently they are stuck in an envelope on the cork board)

Living Room:
-Put away Christmas items
-Get baskets for Expedit at entry to hold shoes/blankets
-Organize area next to TV stand
-Sell wine rack / get small shelf for that space?

Kitchen:
-Put away honey sifting experiment
-Organize food storage cabinet
-Clean/tidy tops of cabinets
-Spice storage/organization - need corks for the bottles

Bathroom:
-Organize under sink/get baskets to corral items

Laundry:
-Organize shelves
-Clean top of dryer
