Thanks again Faith for your insight. I'm in the process of buying a new stove right now and it's super frustrating trying to find anything reliable on gas ranges. I think we're going to get a 30" Bertazonni and I can't wait to fire that baby up! I just freeze mine on a cookie sheet and then throw them all into a ziploc freezer bag once they're frozen. Works just as well and doesn't need to waste wax / parchment paper. How to Freeze Individual Slices of Bacon Cooking Lessons from The Kitchn |

I always just slice the paper top that you have to remove when you first open the plastic lid so that you don't need to remove one thing to add another which seems kind of wasteful. Also, I agree that the tape would get kind of funky. I've done this with cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, anything that is in a powder form that has a paper top under a plastic lid. We just did demo of a lot of our lath & plaster walls last weekend. We've kept all the lath and plan to use it as kindling in our wood burning fire place. Another alternative is sell (you could even put it in bundles) on craigslist. Unfortunately the plaster had to be taken to the dump. No alternative there. Thanks for the post. I feel your pain. It took us four 10 hour days with 5 of us to deal with all our demo. And yes, I ache....pretty much everywhere! I just reorganized my pantry and spice cupboard by using cheap (spice jars were $2 each and larger jars were from $4-6 each) from Superstore in Canada. They don't scream IKEA, which I was looking for since I wanted something a bit different. Like the jars above, the have the rubber rim seal and now my cupboards look super nice and way less cluttered! I made a boat load of Meyer Lemon Curd with these from the Food In Jars cookbook. I have several friends who have already devoured the jars I've given them and have asked for more. I also made some lemon salt which goes extraordinarily with fish in salads. Although it's the first time I've tried Meyers, they will definitely be on my must buy list when they come in season every year. The Sweetheart Citrus: Meyer Lemons Ingredient Spotlight |

Not sure if it's the same in the States, but I went to IKEA in Vancouver, Canada last weekend to get #3 and they've discontinued the line. I was going to use it to put home made vanilla extract for Christmas gifts to some relatives. Love #10. Simple & Beautiful: Pitchers |
