Round rugs also mimic the rugs often used in Nursery school for morning time. Great for playing duck duck goose too on rainy days at home.

Does this room get a lot of light? I'm wondering how an all black chalkboard room looks like when it's cloudy outside. Does it still feel, for lack of a better term, child-friendly?

I'm right there with you Citapore Rugs. Where and how did you create what looks like grass embedded into the shelf/table pot?

You are obviously having fun and involving your child in the evolution of designing his room.

Love, love, love the chalkboard closet play area!!

Wow you did something that so many people don't do. Look at their family to get a sense of who this baby is going to be. What to surround him or her with.

The fact that you looked within to the people you love and know so well for inspiration, is... well, inspiring!

I can spot a Resource Furniture product when I see one. It is such a great option for small spaces, especially NYC bedrooms for kids. More people should consider it. While pricey, I think it saves money, and peace of mind when living in a tiny space in the long run.

Green! A girl after my own heart. I love green and love seeing rooms that take the leap into this fabulous color. Mint with grey works so well in a baby nursery.

I just wrote a whole series on this favorite Color Me Green of mine and how it can work in a small space for baby.

I've never thought of OPPOSITES. Warm and cool hues, but really it's about patterns. Hmm. I'm going to have to look more into rooms like this. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love the child eye-level touches that you have in the room. Often when we see wall decals they reach the ceiling and are really placed for adult eyes.

That beautiful touch of a bird cage in the corner. How precious!

I hate to say this -- but colors like this are something I covet, but would be too afraid to get, especially a major furniture piece like the orange headboard. But may be I should look this fear over and start small like with the green heart.

I agree with Mizk above. You did a fantastic job working with a small space, a rental, little closet space. This room is a great example of looking at those pricey design nurseries and keeping the faith that you can make your child's room look great at any budget within any space.

Isn't it amazing how a putting together your baby's nursery often starts with one favorite item. Everything else is then built around it.

The delicate, elegant mobile truly did inspire this room. Bravo to you!

You must be a girly girl mom to be so in touch with what a girly girl would love.

I always wondered how that ceiling light looked in a room when it was lit. Haver never seen it before. Nice patterns to stare at for kids.

Was not surprised to see that the Vacation Memory Jar came from Martha Stewart. No wonder it looked sooo perfect.

But I love the idea. Perfect for upcoming Spring Break with the kids!

The glass dividers makes the space look even bigger. Most dividers don't.

Amazingly beautiful! And it looks so comfortable.

I love the glass of wine in the picture. You can't do that at the office.

There are definite benefit and drawbacks of being a Work-At-Home-Mom. You get to see your kids, be there for them when they're sick, take a nap when you need to if you've been up with them all night.

I think the key is honoring your time. When you are with the kids, be with the kids. When you are working, work. Trying to do a little bit of both can drive you crazy. At least it does me. The kids feel it.

Then there are times I need to get work done. I've had to tell my kids repeatedly that Daddy is not the only one who works around here. They are still astonished by this fact, because I'm at home. Daddy goes to "WORK WORK WORK" (said in a daddy voice) and Mommy "Oh, she just works works works" (my kids pretend to type on a computer and giggle). The emphasis is there and their's. I found this curious and am actively trying to reshape their way of thinking of WORK and work.

Great way to get your children's art work off the fridge. I certainly have favorites and so do my kids. We place them on picture ledges in their room, but I wondered how to bring their art work out to other areas of our home and do it will class. This certainly is an idea worth checking out.
