I've only used Airbnb twice (LA and SF) and have had completely positive experiences. As others have said, it saves you money vs staying a hotel and I also like the chance to stay in beautifully decorated spaces that also look great architecturally - I live in a city where few buildings are older than 40 years old and crown moulding is like a unicorn, sadly.

This gives me some ideas of how I could manage hanging these letter size art prints I bought from Anthropologie - I have about 15 of them, and not only can I not find frames in that size (they're usually 8x10) and custom framing would cost more, getting frames for all of them would also be pricey. They're sitting and waiting to be hung up.

I have a bit of a book problem, haha. I have one tall bookshelf and a cheap 3x3 cube shelf from Target and there still isn't enough space. It's been on my to-do list to weed out unneeded books and organize my collection but I also work at a library and so I often come home with 5 books or more waiting to be read, often sitting on the floor.

Great article, thank you! It's great timing because I was also reflecting on similar things as I'm in the process of re-decorating my spot. I realized I was trying to follow many of the current trends of minimalism and sparse use of color and trying to go by neutral color schemes and found out, "well why not incorporate the aesthetics of my own culture too?" (I'm Latina). I like clean lines, modern and mid-century furniture, and neutrals as much as anyone, but I also like the beautiful craftsmanship of traditional Mexican furniture pieces, colorful textiles, intricate patterns... one style is not better than the other, and they can both work together easily. We've seen this by the recent trend of mixing "rustic" pieces with modern.

@gingerish, I agree. I love books too but there's little harm in recycling and repurposing them in inventive ways.
