Re: The beautiful sweaters,etc. that are difficult to just drop off at a thrift shop: Most cities have an organization that outfits low income women who are heading into the workplace. They need quality clothing in all sizes. The organization that does this in our town is under the same umbrella organization that runs the food bank. Nice items of clothing are always welcomed and put to good use. For good quality furniture, bedding, dishes, working appliances, etc., we donate those sorts of things to the Habitat for Humanity thrift shop. Our little town has an amazing Habitat store full of good quality items. We even have a recycled building supplies store too. For a town of 7,000 we have a surprising number of places to donate quality items. Now if I could just get the hang of getting rid of stuff without finding something else when I go to drop things off....
