I have a set of 3 Plumen bulbs hanging over my dining table. I'd have to disagree that they're not bright. The grouping, at least, offers plenty of ambient light in my apartment (which has high ceilings). I haven't had them long enough to comment on durability or anything, but so far I'm very happy with them.

I have a similar setup, but my TV is wall-mounted above the desk. I was sort of forced into it b/c the TV came with the apt. (rental), but it actually works great - other than the TV being mounted too high up. I'll probably mimic the setup in my next apartment.

Google voice is supposed to become a "voice carrier" via the FTC in the near future. This would allow you to port your mobile number TO Google Voice (the carrier is required to replace it with a "throwaway" number), allowing you to carry out all of your calling through Google Voice.

Yup, totally agree. I've been using my computer in the bedroom as my primary source of TV entertainment for about 2 years now. Moving shortly with the plan to do with my Mac Mini roughly what you've done with the Roku. Either is a great solution and a solid internet connection should cost much less than monthly cable internet.

Also try a coat of Rain-X (available at auto stores) after a really good cleaning. Made to keep water from settling on airplane windshields (and brought over to the auto industry), the drops will just bead up and slide off.

Is anyone able to get to the DWR auctions? I tried searching on ebay and tried the link from their site and the email they sent, but I can't seem to track down the Gehry chair, for example...

Some of those are a little...tough. I've lived without a landline for almost 4 years, quite happily. Haven't had a printer at home in equally as long (but get by printing the few docs I need at work). No scanner? Um, yeah, I need that for design work. A camera doesn't always cut it.

And flash drives? I still keep a couple around for moving docs back and forth (work to home, computer to computer, etc.). Like it or not, email is still limited to small files and cloud storage is slow unless you have a killer connection.

So if it can't be absorbed by the body, does that make this healthier or less healthy? Does the sweetener just pass right through?

Hrm. Tech tip...Migrating an old mac to a new one? Forget the migration manager, that always seems to lose a couple of settings in the process for me. Instead, do a time machine backup of the old computer. Pop the Leopard disc into the new machine and boot from that, then do a clean install from the time machine backup of the old computer. Your new machine will look exactly like the old one!

As for cases, I'd have to go for the sleeve simply because I don't know that the hard shell will fit the supposed new macbook (which I'll be buying as soon as it releases, I think).
