This was my first January Cure, and it was so much fun (and challenging) and so productive! As others said in these comments, I will miss receiving a daily email in my inbox to help me keep on track, but I feel like you've all given me the push I need to maintain healthy home habits and move forward with my "home goals." Thank you for giving me an energy boost for 2014! Happy year of the horse!
Weekend Chores: Relax & Celebrate! The January Cure Assignment #22

I can't believe it's "the end"...! This month has meant phenomenal changes for my apartment and the way I approach living in my/our home. We are going to host two couples for a belated dinner in honor of Chinese New Year (which is today!) this coming Tuesday. Growing up, I celebrated Chinese New Year with my mom's (Chinese American) family, by usually going out to eat and having a feast. Now that I live on my own, I enjoy finding new ways to celebrate, and I'm looking forward to preparing a meal to share with our friends in our "new", improved space. My husband will also be making cocktails. Thanks Janel and AT - this was totally worth it! And congratulations to everyone on your hard work!

I work 'till 10 tonight, and my husband will be out on a "man's night" with friends until very late, so this might be easier than it would be normally - usually when he's home, we watch a show on Netflix before turning in. I don't have a firm plan for my media fast; will just see how I feel after work. Might work on some personal creative projects, play guitar, or finish up the kitchen cleaning (someone else mentioned this in the comments earlier - yes, I am still working on our kitchen, too!). Personally, I am including reading books as part of "media" - I want to use this opportunity to be more active than passive.
Unplug for an Evening: Try a Media Fast The January Cure: Assignment # 10

My project is small(ish) but waaaay overdue: I am going to acquire a dining table and either 4-5 chairs or two benches for our dining room. We've lived in this apartment since March 2013, but previously lived in a co-op where we didn't need furniture, and before that we were overseas...so, long story short, we need a dining table. Eating off the coffee table is getting old...I've been looking for quite some time, and we have some Ikea credit, but 1) I am on a limited budget 2) I want something that lasts. Not sure if I can fulfill both requirements in one table...I also, ideally, want a table that is relatively lightweight and can be broken down for moving, since this is temporary (grad student) housing for us and I want any new furniture we acquire to be easily moveable. Tall order?
