Some of these are quite clever. I've got to figure out the least claustrophobic, least dangerous places to add some shelves in my place to increase my book storage. I wish I could knock the bulkheads out of my kitchen...

Whoa, did not see that coming! That was a great base for a bench, that I never would have thought of! Great idea.

Shame this wouldn't work for me, humidity is our biggest problem, so this would only make it worse. Love desserty smells though - I don't get enough of them in the summer since I don't bake nearly as much.

Love it! The two tones really work here.

Cement with a controversial, albeit aesthetically pleasing, wood garage is not quite what I was hoping for in this backyard conversion. Surely they don't park on all that space, right? A little pollinator garden would be a nice touch.

I wish builder's grade basics looked that good where I'm from! The after is gorgeous, but I love the bones from the original too.

I love the blue, but the white is too white.

Damn, even when you go over to the blog there isn't a good photo of the top surface after. That's clearly the most interesting part to see in this makeover! Based on the one they do show though, I bet it collects dirt like nobody's business.

I'd feel much better about the price if it wasn't made in India by someone receiving pennies for their work. $400 for a throw made in the first world (assuming it'll wear/wash well) is totally fine by me. $400 for a throw made in the third world though... not unless I know the employees are receiving Western wages and benefits.

Where is that doorway in the hall in the after? Did they photoshop it out for some reason?

I'm not digging the colour or the new light fixture in the after, but kudos on getting that sad brown carpet off the stairs.

Good lord, that's horrible! The fabric is beautiful, but the rusty basket underneath is absurd looking. I can't imagine I'd enjoy sitting at that height either.

The pallet board top looks very strange to me. Does it stick out into the hall? I think something that didn't extend that far out would be a better visual.

I love the idea of turning the top two drawers into a space for wine glasses to hang though. I'd like a glass door to finish it.

It's gorgeous! I would have never assumed it was for sitting on though - putting your feet up, sure, but sitting on? It clearly is a coffee table, in my books.

Aw, I like parquet floors! Everyone hates them though. Our first place (a rental) had them and I loved them, although they were in pretty awful condition. Maybe it doesn't age as well as other hardwood floors.

Great redo! Big budget though - that's a lot of new furniture. The only thing I'm not wild about is the layered rugs in the living room; I feel that's a slight miss. LOVE that "Easton" Bench though.
