I locked myself out of my apartment (keys and phone inside) and walked for about a mile before I could get to a 7-11 that had payphones - 75 cents a call - with special rates to Mexico. I'm really glad it was there.

I had one exactly like the picture... and I just used two identical curtains (with liners) - one for each side. I used power glide rings, so they would bunch up nicely... kind of like a swag.

If you want to use your own fabric - you could attach the panels to Dignitet clips from Ikea and then hang the clips on the curtain rings.

Good luck!

Moved the aloe from the window box to a large pot. Moved the basil and cilantro into small herb pots. Filled windowboxes with orange asiatic lilies and lemon zest petunias.

Hello cord organizer!

Step 1: screw spindle base onto underside of desk.
Step 2: cut appropriately sized holes in spindle cover.
Step 3: coil 'em up and screw it on.

Brilliant! No chance of shorting things out with metal baskets.

Ziplock soup is awesome. I've got what looks like a bookshelf of soup in the freezer.

That said, Pre-prep meals. Sunday night is my kitchen night - I get out all the food containers I picked up at Target and make a batch of steel-cut oats that provides 4 breakfasts. Perhaps a batch of lentils that provides for a few meals. Cook up a pound of chicken or buy a whole rotisserie at the carneceria - perfect for tacos. Make a big salad and divide into portions. At the end of the evening, I have breakfast and lunch for the week, ready to go, and all I have to worry about is dinner. It all takes about 2 hours on a Sunday night and saves me from blowing $5-$10 on lunch each day. The oats for breakfast comes out to less than one dollar per meal, including dried cranberries and almonds. Throw in eggs for one day or pancakes on the weekend. Oh... and I stopped paying $80 some odd a month (that's one quad grande americano a day) for someone to pour me a cup of coffee.

A dark, dark roast brewing just as I wake up... or between breakfast and lunch... or midday... or to cap a wonderful dinner... with dessert...

I was "Uncle of the Century" a few years back when I fashioned a few clementine candles at the Thanksgiving table. My nieces were awestruck. I'll be making gluten free, casein free clementine clafoutis next week.

This would be a HUGE change from the current, run-down, nowhere to sit situation. Seriously. This is on the level of Extreme Makeover.

I remember selling these in the 80's when I worked summers at the Pottery Shack in Laguna Beach. Invariably, I would drop one here and there and, most of the time, they would bounce instead of break.

2 eggs, scrambled and dashed with Louisiana hot sauce on a flour tortilla that was grilled in the panini press until crisp.

I did a gluten free casein free version of Faith's "Moist and Tender" recipe above with rice flour, garbanzo bean flour, cumin, cayenne pepper, s&p and grapeseed oil. It was really good and had a light crispiness... and yes, the chicken was juicy.

I don't know why, but I get the best results on my panini grill. The chicken is never dry and has plenty of flavor. I just throw a couple frozen (yep) boneless, skinless slabs from the bag on the pre-heated grill and turn once. I also let them set for about 4-5 minutes. I do add a bit of cayenne, a squeeze of lime and some red Hawaiian sea salt just before the turn, but that's about it.

My favorite thing about O's Favorite Things is watching the audience FUH-REEK out when they find out what edition of the show they are attending. After that, the rest of the show is a let down. BTW, those turtleneck/pants combos? WHOA! Second funniest part of the show.
