I just reread Emmi's comment and agree 100%. What do you? is a safe question that always leads to more interesting conversation.

Maybe people in Switzerland don't love what they do enough to want to talk about it!?

Of course you can learn ... but you still need an innate passion for it ... if it's only a superficial desire, you'll eventually forget to water those plants.

Maybe we need to start AT Happy Hours in our respective Cities and meet each other, we know we at least have some good style in common!

After lots of research we went with the white Music Hall MMF 2.2LE for $499 and LOVE it!!

Definitely frame it. It's a great flag.

As far as decorating go, just keep an open mind, and let him approve of everything. If he's generally easy-going, then when he doesn't like something, understand why, then move on.

One thing that helped with my husband is I would do research and leg-work and not take him to actual store until we were totally ready to buy. In addition, never trying to make him go to too many stores in one day.

And more important, keep a sense of humor about it all.

I made it exactly as recommended, and it was delicious, but didn't look like the photo in the post (consistancy-wise) at all. Think it would need to be cooked for at least another hour. Mine came out like rice soup. That said, I loved it anyway.

I did research and some people cook their congee up to 9 hours, so I am definitely going to research doing it in a slow cooker, but I want to use the same ingrediants as here, the ginger was outstanding!!

I lived in a studio with similar dimensions, except (luckily) the kitchen was by the windows. I would play with having the bed flush alongside the Kitchen Bar and maybe have a track that you can hang a curtain from around the bed (or an expedite at the foot of the bed)? Then you can really maximize the use of the windows and set up a cozy, proper living space (since the bed, generally speaking, gets the least amount of use).

I didn't love it, but also, didn't mind having my bed be the first thing when people entered my apartment. But you have the foyer and the kitchen! And, I found it nice that once in the apartment and settled in my living area (near the windows), one could almost forget about the bed.

Then you could hang the bike across from the bed (the CB2 bike holder is awesome), and really maximize the area by the window.

Cool room, ear plugs ... but what really truly quiets my monkey mind once I read, and mellowed out, and turned the lights out is a numbers game I recently invented for myself and (knock on wood) it's been a magic sleep aid for the last year.

I count backward and forward from 200 and 0 at the same time, usually in time to my breath, for example ..."(inhale) 200 ... (exhale) 0 ... (inhale) 199 ... (exhale) 1 ... (inhale) 198 ... (exhale) 2 ... (inhale) 197 ... (exhale) 3 ... (inhale) 196 ... (exhale) 4 ... (inhale) 195 ... (exhale) 5 etc".

I have a few rules, if I mess up, like I forget what number I'm on, or accidently start counting the wrong direction (usually for the high numbers) I have to start all over. And I'm not allowed to think about anything else, just count.

It's boring, and sometimes I don't want to do it, but it always works, the closest I've ever gotten was up to the 20s and down to the 179s ... I figure if I ever meet in the middle, that in itself will be cool.
