aww it would be a shame to lose that lovely gradient effect. for contrast, obviously red strikes against green but since thats a no-no, shades of sunny orange/yellow? however with such a traditional looking sculpt, perhaps it'd look too old fashioned with a warm color. if the walls are a saturated deep turquoise, a light lilac could be fresh.... if the walls are pale turquoise, a deep cold purple. its probably worth knowing what bulb/shade you're putting in the lamp first and holding a color swatch over the horse head when its on, because purples and other tones can look very muddy and brown with yellow indoor light.. i think an aforementioned square or a more tailored plant box could eliminate the 'storage' look people commented on, and do plants really harbor bacteria more than the bathroom surfaces do anyway? i just keep some baking soda and a rag in the bathroom anyway for a monthly scrub just to keep the walls tidy. but my UK bathroom looks identical and i could always use more air purification, even between just me and my husband........... i don't know much about contact paper either or where to get it. is it easily removed as well? me and my hubs are renting so its crushing to feel like i can't decorate walls or other flat surfaces - command adhesive hooks have solved my need to hang pictures, but i've no way to spruce up cupboards and the pre-existing furniture without marring it. motion controls and virtual reality will always just play to the magpie novelty crowds. these just aren't life-sucking tools. right now the most addictive games are not on the wii, not on the 3DS, weren't on the virtual boy when it touted VR. the most life-demanding games are MMO's, which involve people because there are other scores of live humans within to interact and cooperate/impress/compete with, not because its got some gorgeous wrap-around panoramic goggles. might be the fault of the camera, but the blue-white lighting makes the lovely little cool grey nook seem really harsh. like its a lovely elegant little space thats going to be the ironic setting for some horror movie, Shining style. switching out the bulb color/wattage and/or adding a floor lamp nearby to diffuse and bounce light back to make it less starkly top-down. all minor fixes! i've had it good, i've had it bad. i'm no fan of the leathery texture and i'm far happier eating it chiffonade in a chunky chowder or in super loaded fajitas/stir fries. i can't like it as the main attraction, but i'll always try to incorporate it in busy things to fluff up the quantity without reaching for more carbs or meat Is There a Kale Conspiracy? |

i have a sensitive stomach so i always have a stock of ginger tea, and a frozen hunk in the freezer to grate into things. i always have designs for it, but honestly i usually just lazily put it right in my morning oatmeal Fresh, Candied, or Powdered: Tips for Cooking with Every Form of Ginger Ingredient Spotlight |

so many bleak twig + bakelite obsessed hipsters here, i swear. if its not flooded with sunshine and eastery pastels with birch tree patterns and cheesecloth there's just no pleasing you guys. i for one find this Ralph Lauren tour envious and gorg (thats what you kids do right? instead of saying gorgeous?). i love seeing people still using bold deep tones to coax luxury, dense geometry in fabrics, and i swear my death will be suffocation in fur throws. love fur throws. the chair is boss, you guys are out of your mind. thanks for putting up a post showing interior design with more of a broody sumptuous unobtainable bite to it. i've unfortunately no pleasant advice, but my husband and i are in an almost identical situation and i have immense sympathy for what you're going through. we were told that our only neighbor in this building was an old single woman who rarely lived here...well.. turns out it was a middle aged mom with two incredibly noisy toddlers that pound up and down in their apartment, and play in the shared stairwell. our neighbor was incredibly defiant and defensive against us (the few times we brazened up to stand in our open doorframe and knock), so our only option is to pack up and move.......even before our lease ended.... but we decided we'd rather sacrifice the cash of temporarily renting 2 places and skip christmas this year if it meant we could live without the quaking. obviously not everyone can budget something that nuts, but if your lease is up or coming up soon, really ask yourself if this location is worth that much to you, or if a month of moving pain could save many months of headache down the road. heck, desserts were the first things i made in my slow cooker! granted they're mostly quickbreads, but i don't make them any other way. traditional wisdom being to put the bread mix in a ceramic pan and fill the gap between bread pan and crock pot an inch with water to conduct heat, but i dont have any pans so i just grease and line with wax paper. its great to have the slow cook of banana bread fill the apartment for a few extra hours.
