I'm in the middle of mine. I decided to scrape the peeling bedroom walls of my rental apartment before repainting them. After removing a huge section of old paint, I discovered places where the drywall is crumbling to powder. Now I'm going to have to patch the bare section and just try to fill the cracks as best I can before painting. I'm sure I'll end up shoving a bookcase in front of the wall I tried to scrape. Yes, they pull the paint off the wall when you remove them -- and they have a tendency, after a few years, to suddenly fall in the middle of the night, taking your picture with them. Don't bother, unless you enjoy terrifying your pets. Go Ahead and Make a Mistake: Approaching Design without Fear |
