As I get older I realize the saying "I'm to poor to by cheap" really rings true. Although it is getting harder and harder to buy well made everyday items, everything seems to be made for a disposable society. Fix It—Even If It's Cheap | Apartment Therapy Re-Nest |

I was at my local Whole Foods (in Portland Maine) and they had a sign that said local Blueberries. Yes Maine is known for their blueberries and that wouldn't be weird. But when you picked up the package of blueberries in small print it said "product of Michigan". I wonder how many more products they sell are marked incorrectly for the purpose of marketing and sales. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Whole Foods: A Hasty Mistake? The Cheesemonger |

I just bought the offset knife with the wave edge- I have to say I'm really not happy with it. My 11 year old F. Dick offset was a workhorse, this is not nearly as good a knife and almost 3 times the price. It's lighter, the blade is not rigid and it does not cut straight through things like apples and such. Also it is extremely uncomfortable to hold. Look around before you give one of these a try. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | The Classic Wave Knife from Wüsthof Product Reviews |

I was reading some magazine a while ago and the home they were featuring had a great redo for a crystal lamp. They spray painted the whole thing, crystals and all a flat white. It looked like a much more expensive modern piece than the HD special it was Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: How Should I Paint This Chandelier? |

There is a great food and cookbook store in Portland Maine called Rabelais. The owners are really nice and very helpful. Also Portland is a great weekend vacation spot. Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | A Tour of London's Bookshop Café Books for Cooks |

you could just build a blank wall and hang it from behind with barn door sliders recessed into the drywall. lot easier/cheaper,uses less space. This door looks like after a while the stress on the one end connecting them would cause it to fail. Apartment Therapy - Sliding Welter Wall Slinks: n. Just a heads up- tap water is not free. yeah it's cheap, but at a busy large restaurant they must go through 20-50 gallons a day plus water for ice, alot of which people don't drink and gets dumped. Next time you meet a restaurant owner, or commercial building owner ask them what their water bill is. Gourmet Tap Water |

I don't know if you need this light for full lighting. I have a similar plaster piece but I have it mounted on the wall with little 7 w gumball sized night light bulbs in it, they come in different colors too. It gives nice ambient light similar to what you get with christmas lights. If you could live with table and floor lamps then this might be an alternative Good Questions: What Type Of Light Bulbs Should I Use |
