It would be GREAT to put this in at school...I can't tell you how many times I've looked at a pot of coffee and wondered how many DAYS ago someone made it!

Had a giggle at the former upstaters bashing Utica-Rome. As a Rochestarian myself, I feel the pain. This city is starting to grow on me, but I'd be happy if winter would just END already (April 11th and there's ice warnings).

That being said, I've already told my boyfriend I want to retire to Ocean City. While it didn't make the list, Baltimore and DC did, which are very close! Most of the list is California or Louisiana. I haven't spent much time in either, but I'd check them out for sure! This was fun!

I think if you want to leave it brick, and you might change the banister on the stairs anyway, pick a color from the bricks (maybe the bright red?) and paint the banister and the thing on the wall (what is that? A radiator?), that brick color. Might contrast your stripes well.

Then, ask at your local nursery about plants that A: do ok in low light, and B: don't have aggresive root systems. Then put some plants in there! I think it's silly that so many people are saying "Cover it up and put a plant on it!" when you could just use it as it was meant and put a plant in it!

I stopped by a tent that wast set up by New York at a local festival. You only needed the person's name, and I found nothing for myself or my parents, but some over paid property taxes for my grandmother!

I'm such a thrift store shopper. All my "best" cook-wear came to me chipped and stained. Know what? My friends still rave about my cooking, fish for dinner invites, and never ever complain about what my pots and pans look like.

I've also just discovered ink-jet water slide transfers. Again, not food safe, and only for use outside the food/mouth areas, but I'm working on putting some images on glass, and I think it's going to work out well!

This makes me think I should have an ice cream maker!!

I suppose it depends on how hot it was when you left it out. America's Test Kitchen did a segment a while ago on cooling food on the counter vs. sticking it straight in the fridge. The result? No more bacteria was found in counter cooled food than food stuck straight in the fridge. Food stuck straight in the fridge did raise the temperature of everything else in the fridge though. So, if you're like my family and it was hot until midnight because that's when you eat, then you got up at 6 to feed the cat and noticed it was still out, I would wager it was probably not in the "danger zone" for very long. My crock pot (which is what I would have put pork shoulder in) cools very slowly as it's wicked heavy duty. If, however, you ate dinner at 6pm, and it was out for 12 hours, it might be time to toss it.

I'm in the "heat and eat" camp, but only if it wasn't out for very long.

pulling my hair out looking for a recipie for gluten free noodles from scratch. My poor ravioli maker hasn't gotten any use since I stopped eating gluten! any help would be great!
