The way to deal with the hand chair is to upholster it a glove. That way it'll go from something that represented your early design sense but now seems dated to a piece of art that represents your new, more sophisticated tastes and sensibilities. You need to interact with the giant hand, be in communication with it and by doing so communicate with your younger self.

What a lovely home all around. I can imagine hearing a lot of laughter in these rooms. Not a fan of arranging books by color in principle, but the use of color in general throughout the apartment is totally masterful.

I went through the same process a year ago, too. It's exhilarating putting together your own place and not having to compromise on design. You made a great space for you and your daughter. Really impressive, feels like the right combination of kid and adult.
