So many delicious bean recipes, and a husband who won't eat anything with beans in it. :( I'm starting to think that we might have to just make 2 dinners a night so we'll both be happy!! I would sneak beans in, but we have an open kitchen and he would totally wise up to my tricks.

lol I agree with Iruthg... but something quick and not too filling if you don't have too many, is chips and a really good salsa. That way it's enough to take the edge off the hunger but not enough to ruin an appetite. (At least in me and my fiance's case).

I get this way a couple times a month, it seems. For about 3 days I subsist off of simple spaghetti, or a baked potato, or just lazy lazy dishes (fiance doesn't complain but I'm sure he gets bummed!) and then all of a sudden I can't wait to bake or cook a more intensive dish. I wish it was only a seasonal thing!!

I've also heard it's great to juice, once you get to the point of green juicing where you can add stronger tasting greens.

I don't communte like she does, but I pack some celery/carrots/cucumber/bell pepper slices and a little container of dip (usually ranch, sometimes peanut butter if I take celery) that will fit in my center cup holder, and eat that on the way home from work so I'm not starving before dinner.

I would do wraps, definitely. Maybe cold pizza? What about good bread, some cheese, grapes, if you have a fridge, some deli meat/rotisserie chicken... all finger foods that hopefully won't make a big mess in your car!

To be honest, I'm also guilty of eating things out of pyrex containers at stoplights I know are really long....like rice, or salad. I should probably be pulled over for that.

That floral get-up is hideous. Usually I am out with my fiance who pretty literally knows everyone, so I never have to feel super awkward... but I tend to like to point out things in the area/room/house and comment on them, or ask someone about the piece of jewelry/clothing they are wearing. I don't much like the "what do you do" question because I'm unhappy in what I do at the moment. If I'm unhappy I'm sure there are others who wouldn't want that question asked of them. It's always nice if kids are around, too, because they'll inevitably do something amusing and that can lead to some interesting conversations.

Like that all the drawers are pull-out, wondering where you got the dividers for all your plates/bowls/dishes? A little too modern for my taste, but definitely nice, it's got a clean and calm feel to it.... If people are going to watch you cook, how are they going to sit around the island? Nowhere for you to put chairs so people can sit and snack with their legs underneath the marble... but maybe marble is too fragile for that kind of use?

LOL, "Parent-of-Lump".

I really like this article. Soon enough we will be entertaining for people with kids and we'll enter that tricky kind of situation. I kind of argree with PastaAMT... if it's past your child's bedtime, your child should be in bed, not running around on a sugar high at my house.

We JUST received a chip&dip bowl like this from our wedding registry and I was elated to use it last weekend (maybe too excited, it just held chips and salsa!) But it's great knowing I'll have it around and I'm sure, like you, it will become a "party piece".

Great idea with the asaragus and tarragon mayo, I'll have to try that!

As much as I like this idea, I'm so tired of the "washi tape trend"... it's tape, people. It's not the best thing since sliced bread (and while we're on it, neither is "ombre", "chevron", or those "keep calm" sayings).

we just bought a new house, and while it is everything we could hope for, it has proved difficult in the cleaning dept... our sink is smaller and divided in the middle, making dish washing less mindless than before (don't want to splash water everywhere!). Our counters aren't white like the old house, so I'm not always sure if I've cleaned them well enough. Our tub and shower are now separate, when before they were together, so my bathroom cleaning is double. no one likes cleaning bathrooms anyway. our floors no longer have carpet, so our vaccuum is obsolete(it was before that regardless!) and I don't like sweeping/mopping. we don't have our washer/dryer yet, so laundry is a huge waste of time and inconvenience. I used to like organizing, but we have weird cabinet space now and we're receiving wedding presents because we're getting married in a couple months... so now there's no place to put things that seems right or proper until we get some bookcases or a buffet table or a dining room armoire...

I don't enjoy cleaning at all anymore. lol.
