Very pretty but only for gifts that you know will be open very soon. Otherwise, wilted flowers will not look so nice.

It is possible that results are interpreted in a wrong way. What is people who prefer blue bedrooms are also people who tend to sleep better? To truly test what they are claiming they need to put people in different colored bedrooms and see how that effects their sleep.

Yes, good quality pieces come with higher prices but there is no justification for, for example Le Corbusier's small LC2 to cost $4000 when you buy it from authorized Cassina. They produce massive quantities and they most definitely can lower their prices. I doubt royalties to Le Corbusier's estate are $3000/ chair. Besides, Le Corbusier would most definitely want his designs to be more affordable for a middle class person that he had in mind when he created his pieces.

I am a potter and I know quite a lot about chemistry of glazes. I would never use these kind of pens on any surface that needs regular washing. Maybe on a serving platter that gets used once or twice a year but definitely not on everyday dishes. It will scrub off with time especially in a dishwasher. Most definitely do not use sharpies (project 8!) on any dishes you intend to eat off.

Nice idea but way too expensive! $500 for 40 sq ft. Real wood is cheaper!

I am a potter and I always love when people appreciate ceramics. However, turning bowls into sinks is not the best idea for a bathroom that is used on a regular basis. Sinks are constructed out of sturdier clay and are made much thicker to prevent chips and cracks. I hope that it doesn't happen to this couple because everything looks nice and well put together.

Yes, hire a pro! And don't pay attention to people who say you should keep the wood. It's your home! Do what feels good for you! I do think it's beautiful when white. Light and airy instead of dark and falling-on-your head feeling. One more thing that drives me crazy in houses that have too much bare wood. The wood soaks up moisture and it starts to smell and you can never clear out.

Even for kids spaces this is just not practical. I can already see prints of all this doodles on light colored clothes.

I have IKEA flashlight and it is great! So satisfying to crank it up and know that there are no batteries to waste.

We don't have all white room but do have lots of white stuff including white walls, kitchen cabinets, white area rugs and white sofa. We have two small children and we regularly throw parties. No problems at all. Children are now 12 and 8 and they grew up in all this. Sofa has a removable cover, rugs are shaggy so they hide a lot and cabinets are easy to clean. The only white that is not easy to clean is our bathroom which we still need to remodel. It has white tiles on the floor and that is a major pain. It shows every hair and dust bunny. Love white! It is easy to add color with pillows, art and accessories.
