I have the Nikon D40 and my husband has the D90, but I rarely carry it around due to the size. I've been on the fence about the compact interchangeable lens cameras, mostly because of speed issues. This definitely sounds like something I will be looking into more now! Nikon 1 J3 Digital Camera Tech Test Lab Review |

@Amy Frances - I didn't finish my thought on the couch. :) I would think it would be best to have a professional look at it, because it seems to be more structural. At the very least, you should be able to get a quote for the repair cost, which would tell you if it's worth it or not. Laura's Relaxing Retreat Small Cool Contest |

Issues on used soft furnishings aside (which some people freak out about, but I tend to just use my judgement on), I say the Salvation Army one is fantastic! It has loads more character, and vintage sofas tend to be much better made and hold up a lot better than new, lower-end sofas. Go for it! Should I Trade My New Sofa for a Used Vintage One? It says in the post that she collects lots of things, including books, so I see this as a practical way of displaying her items, while allowing her to have a work space. I think it's a fantastic job, personally, and adds a lot of character. Before & After: Simple Office Nook Makeover |

All of these are great solutions! I really like the magazine holders as it is the most flexible in terms of smaller amounts of different yarns. I get a little overwhelmed with all of it on display myself, plus I like to minimize dust, so I ended up going with labeled canvas boxes for my yarn and fabric stash: Yarn Stash Storage Solutions: A Crafting Quandary Unraveled |

My boyfriend's office was moving and selling a bunch of their furniture, so I was able to snag them for $5 apiece. I've seen the same chair once on Craigslist, but other than that, I've never seen them. They are super comfy. Laura's "Sunny Days" Living Room |

I made a freestanding shelving unit out of copper pipes, as I didn't want it to be attached to the wall and floor either. I looked at other options for putting it together, but went with soldering, as it seemed the sturdiest. Building DIY Plumbing Pipe Shelves in My Dining Room |
