I've always wanted to cover something in metal contact paper, and it looks like they would be the perfect candidate:

There are different versions of it (and thicknesses), but mostly it is used for covering appliances, so you can search for that.

@PI - I'm in Northern VA and we had really spotty cell service after the storm and could barely get any calls to go through. A landline would have come in handy!

@Purplecharm - It is indeed the Ivar shelving, which we sanded, stained, and polyurethaned, to class it up a bit. The shelves in front of the window in the bedroom are also Ivar, which we shortened a bit and added a solid top to.

@Amy Frances - I love our couch - it is so comfy! I just call it a chesterfield, but I'm not sure if there are different kinds of chesterfields or not. A repair like that sounds to me like it would be best to have a professional look a

@Mary79 - It is just a terrarium with plants, but I was super happy with how well it happened to fit under the console table.

@Ecochic - That's so funny you recognized it! I debated putting in a photo of the patio, but decided I should focus on the house. Although the patio essentially is functioning as our dining room with the nice weather, so I guess it is another "room". :)

This is fantastic! To me, this exemplifies small cool, because you really worked with the space and came up with beautiful, amazingly functional solutions. Well done!

I've taken down blinds and closet doors, but the best thing I replaced was my shower head by far. Super easy and not too expensive to do, and a huge improvement in my daily routine.

All of these are great solutions! I really like the magazine holders as it is the most flexible in terms of smaller amounts of different yarns. I get a little overwhelmed with all of it on display myself, plus I like to minimize dust, so I ended up going with labeled canvas boxes for my yarn and fabric stash:

When I lived in a studio with a layout like that, my boyfriend and I built a divider/lightbox to split up the space without being too heavy visually:

Thanks so much for all the compliments! I'm glad you all enjoy it as much as I do. The rug is indeed west elm but I had bought it on Craigslist for my boyfriend's house a few years ago and decided to try it out after he moved and didn't need it any more.

Um normally not a huge fan of accent walls myself, but the living room, kitchen, and entry are all connected and I didn't want to overwhelm the space with that much yellow. I also liked the white background to set off my photos.

I don't think I would consider it a color of the 80s either, but I do love it (and always have).

When I wanted to add some color to my all white bedroom, I found teal sheets, and they had just the right punch of color I needed. I wanted to find some higher quality sheets in that color, but from my lack of success in finding them, I don't think teal is storming the design world at the moment.
