I don't think it looks good - it looks like a rainbow threw up on your bookshelves.

We have our kids (just 2 of them) share a room because we like our smaller house, and they are very happy with their shared room. Both myself and my partner always shared rooms growing up, so the idea that our kids would share a room seemed normal to us. Bigger isn't necessarily better, and creative use of space doesn't have to be very expensive.

How are we supposed to focus on the bed with that pretty, pretty cat sitting on it?

You can't see his weird little face as well after he is spray-painted. Takes all his quirky personality away.

I have to say that giving plants is a bit of a risk - unless you know the person you are giving it to likes having houseplants, don't give a living thing as a gift.

I, personally, have killed every green thing that has ever lived with me, and don't want to add to the death toll. No plants for me!

A nice bottle of wine will do instead, but I suppose that isn't "home-minded"? Or is it, if I promise to drink it at home?

Since our TV is quite small (although we finally did buy a flatscreen), it is in a smallish wooden cabinet in our living room.

I'm an academic, so my books are part of my work, I would no sooner get rid of my reference texts as I would throw out my computer.

There is no hard and fast rule that applies to everyone - and so these "rules" are always a bit forced.

My shoes are part of my outfit - I pick my shoes (usually high heels) to compliment what I'm wearing.

Of course, on a snowy winter day, I'll be glad to trade out my boots (that I wear from the car or street to your doorstep) for my heels (that are waiting in my bag, but I'm not going to be barefoot or in hose/tights on your floor.

Am I the only regular poster here that is usually in a dress or skirt? I'm not wearing "fun socks" under my shoes, that isn't the type of shoes I wear.

I'm so glad my friends don't insist on this.

I have all of my Dominos. Every once in a while I go through the whole bunch - still my favorite magazine.

It is so funny - I was just looking through the issue of Domino (March 2008) that image is from today!

Oh, Domino, I miss you still . . .

Your house should reflect you and your family and the things you love, like, enjoy.

Personally, it isn't a look I like much (and I'm afraid it has reached the eye-rolling level of hipsterness that certain mid-century bits of furniture share) - but that is my taste, not anyone else's.

Your home should make you happy. Who cares what some random stranger on the internet thinks?
