Perhaps I'm a crazy hippy, but I think the answer is simply to play with your cat more. Get a feather on a string and a laser pointer. The cat will thank you for spending 20 mins or so a day playing with it and will probably show less desire to go out and chase the birds. Do DVDs for Cats Really Work? |

I went with Old Town Home. They're pretty new, but they've written some awesome stuff. They had a home tour a little while back, too: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/alex-and-wendys-160703 Best DIY Blog Nominations The Homies 2012 |

I'm a little late to the party, but someone way back disputed the bed bug situation. The reason you wash everything and don't sleep isn't because they'll "magically appear". The reason is that you may have stayed somewhere that had bed bugs (which are not always visible) and may have eggs on your person or in your belongings. Bed bugs can remain dormant for a year before you even know you have them. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | 9 Dangerous Home Habits |

How is moving the controls to the earbud cord better?? Now I HAVE to use the Apple earbud to listen to it? Earbuds are awful. I prefer something like the Nike Flight (I think they're called) headphones for running/etc. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | World’s Smallest Music Player iPod shuffle...With VoiceOver Technology |

There is on the 1000 block of "P" St NW that is painted a very bright yellow. I love it. Unfortunately it appears that Google Street View was done before it was painted. Apartment Therapy DC | Roundup: Yellow Houses in Friendship Heights |

If they come up with a short-term, low cost book rental to go with an ereader, I think it will become far more popular. The DC library lets you do this with music and video material. If I could have Kindle and get a book on it for 4 weeks for, say, $1 (or less) it's a much more viable option than $10 to have it forever. While I'm not sure how I feel about the Kindle, you can't compare it to a laptop. First of all, e-ink is a decidedly different reading experience. In addition, it's nothing like holding a bulky, hot laptop. It's smaller, lighter, and presumably much cooler. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | Survey: Will the Kindle Replace the Book Shelf? |

OK. There are plenty of amazing houses/condos/apartments in DC and none of them show up on this site. Just on the walk between my home and my office I could pick out 5 houses worthy of a house tour. I think it's nice to show a home with more personal touch and less financial investment on occasion, but that seems to be all that the DCAT bloggers have to offer. In addition, DC is getting a bad rep because of the awful photography on the site. Please, please get a new photographer. Put a request on the site for one and I'm sure someone will take up the call. Every house tour from DC, good or bad, has been destroyed by the photography. Apartment Therapy DC | House Tour: Crafty Kelly's Studio Apartment Washington, DC |

I would agree with both staintpetpaul and gretchenalexis (she is my wife, after all. ;) ). If you want to do some DIY planning, SketchUp is great. However, the tools that Home Depot and Lowes have are going to be a lot more specific to a kitchen and allow you to setup basic cabinets very quickly. I think SketchUp is great for laying out a floorplan or something incredibly custom, but a kitchen design tool is probably best for designing a kitchen. So, for all intents and purposes, it is a rod. It just is typically inside the window, which can also be done with a tension rod or some other style of rod that is inside the window? Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Good Questions: Curtains for Bay Windows? San Francisco |

We have tension rods with curtains. This makes them look a bit like roman shades, in that they are inside the window box. However, they do not fold up like Roman Shades (and are fairly prone to falling) Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Good Questions: Curtains for Bay Windows? San Francisco |
