I just wanted to update everyone who reads this post regarding where to purchase this unit in the US: Resource Furniture in New York City still sells these beds.

http://www.resourcefurniture.com

That list from Chris Hunt @ Dennis Wedlick Architects is over 3 years old, and some of those distributors have gone out of business.

Resource Furniture also has a different address:
969 Third Avenue, 4th Floor New York, NY 10022.

I went there a few months ago to see these systems with my buddy, and ended up wanting one for myself. This company actually makes over 20 "Space Savers" with different uses and mechanisms, but I was TOTALLY blown away by the revolving bed! You must go see it in person, because photos don't do it justice!

ATTENTION NEW YORK RESIDENTS:
Clei wall beds (including the one pictured in Maxwell's answer) are available in Manhattan at Resource Furniture!

Resource Furniture is the US distributor for these systems, and has a showroom at 3rd and 58th, right by the D&D building.

These are the most amazing wall bed systems I've ever seen, because any of them are available as multi-function units! Some have sofas, some have shelves, some have desks, and all are amazing. Anyone who is tight on space absolutely needs to see these.

This is a great design! And a few months ago, I found a place in New York that sells these. It's a company called Resource Furniture (http://www.resourcefurniture.com) and they have a whole line of crazy creative wall beds like this (they call them "Space Savers").

I had a buddy who transformed a tiny room that was being used as a makeshift walk-in closet into an office/guest bedroom with a similar model called the "poppibook". I loved it so much that I stopped in to look at stuff for my apartment.

I found the PERFECT bed/desk for myself, called the "ulisse desk". It's a queen bed with a desk on the front, and the coolest thing about it is that when you lower the bed, the desk stays parallel to the ground, so everything that's on the desk can stay there. You can literally can just close your laptop and open your bed! It's the best thing I've ever seen, and I can't wait to actually get it.

If you're squeezed for space, you MUST check out these multi-function wall beds!

This is an okay idea. But I don't like how the little roll-up mat is visible. For something really cool, I know this awesome line of furniture that is sure to make your guests (and everyone else) go crazy!

They're called "Space Saving Beds" and they are akin to modern Murphy beds w/ sofas or desks or shelves on the front. You don't need a guest room when your guests can pull a bed out from behind the desk or the sofa!

You must see to believe:

The only US distributor, Resource Furniture, is based out of New York. But that's okay because I have a buddy in Chicago who bought one, and they told him they ship all over the country! He is totally happy with it. Check it out.

ATTENTION NYC RESIDENTS:

If you like this concept, you MUST see Resource Furniture. They offer over 20 different models (they call them Space Saving Furniture) in a more contemporary European design. They are much sleeker, and a lot less bulky.

They have a showroom on Third Ave. (where it is exactly escapes me at the moment), but it's on the website:

I went with a friend who has a tiny room in his apartment (it's something like a 10x5 space that his ex-girlfriend used to use as a closet) and he ordered the Poppi Book, a twin fold-out bed with 3 bookshelves on top and a desk mounted on the front of the bed! He uses it like an office now, and I don't have to sleep on his crappy little sofa when I crash there anymore.
