6/34 quart flamey orange Le Creuset dutch oven, and a couple MAC knives. Thank you, foodie dad. :D

Huh! I was thinking about picking my dad up a few gifts from the cheese shops here in Toronto, but had no idea if whatever I got could withstand four hours on a train. This is ridiculously timely. :D

My good friend lived on Lennon Court in high school. I was always insanely jealous.

Her sister later moved out of that house to a new subdivision with streets given either awesome-sounding city names (Helsinki Cres., Osaka Circle, Zurich Ave.,), flower names (Periwinkle Cres., Lavender Ave.) and, of course, UNICORN DRIVE.

You just know the planner let his six-year-old daughter name a street.

I wanted to get a wee potted pine tree and decorate it, but figured my cat would probably be far too interested in it. Instead, I got one of those nets of Christmas lights (meant for use on trees / bushes outside), hung it up on my wall in a vague tree sort of shape, and decorated away. It's pretty resplendent in its ugliness: http://twitpic.com/ufgtj

I think the yarn tree makers did a way better job with this concept... :D

A couple weeks ago I decided to fry up some turkey kielbasa sandwich for brunch with the BF. I chopped it into rounds and cooked it up with some onions and paprika, and even though it looked delicious, he and I were picking little strands of tough stuff out of our mouths the whole time.
That casing around the sausage? The one with the company's name printed on it? Turns out you have to take that off BEFORE you cook the sausage.

(I made the rest of it today, though, and it was perfect and casing-free. :D)

Bahahaha, awesome. I have nowhere to put a tree, so I just might have to put lights on the bass case that sits in the corner of my bedroom and call it a day.

This episode was awesome. SLIGHT crush on Grant. Just sayin'.

Sneaky personal rule: If you use the other end of the chip or veggie stick, it's not really double-dipping.

This is how to make all-IKEA look awesome. (cmelton: I'm pretty sure they're from the EFFEKTIV line of custom office cabinets.)

Everything I've seen of hers looks like the waiting office of an incredibly rich and possibly insane dentist. The '80s pastel colour scheme she seems to love does nothing for me. And that blue ribby sofa is a crime against humanity.

I will admit those gryphon chairs in the office are kind of boss - but not TWO of them in an office already full of gilt and orange wood and animal print. Gaah.

It kind of works backwards. I picked CIL's Bright Sun for my kitchen and thought it was sort of a drag the name wasn't more interesting.

Yowza, people. You guys HAVE noticed this piece of furniture is not actually a golden retriever, right?

It is quite nice, and you may find once you get it in your place that it works for you more than you thought. I would try switching out the knobs to something a little more attention-grabbing and putting on a stone top, as others have suggested. If it still isn't your bag, sell it.

Bahahahahahaha! That was my mom the day they moved me into the dorms. "Are you SURE you want this bath mat that's shaped like a cassette tape?"

My collection so far consists of one Caribbean blue whistling tea kettle, and it has a permanent place of honour on my stove. It's a thing of beauty AND a joy forever.

That looks RAD.
Given the notorious unsturdiness of cheapo Ikea items, however, I'd be kind of wary of using them for something that would take so much weight / traffic. But if she keeps holding, you will have proven me wrong.
