Whenever I desire something that is precious and comes with a price, I ask myself whether I could a) make it for less or b) find it second-hand. Usually I end up with great pieces, with unique stories, at an affordable price...even if it takes a bit longer. On Price & Aesthetics: How Much Is Too Much For a Kitchen Tool or Accessory? |

On weekends, I like to relish lunch or brunch with friends and good, solid food. Monday to Friday, though, I want something simple and make-ahead, but I've found salads to be tiring on that front. I've started making freezer burritos, with a different meat and vegetable each week. They're easy to reheat and delicious. My favourite breakfast, bar none, is the European spread of bread with cheese/meats/jams/etc. It's quick and allows you time to sit down. You don't have to eat the exact same thing, but the principle is the same, if that makes sense. For example, when I lived in Germany, my host father would eat a soft-boiled egg most mornings, but my host brother would not. Great Breakfasts Without Eggs or Sweets? Good Questions |

I think that this would be awesome! You could create savoury cookies as well (cheddar/thyme shortbreads; peanut butter bacon) and still have cocktails or other drinks that aren't milk based.
