I truly LOVE everything about this kitchen! I could not even begin to decide my favorite feature. What I love most about the entire kitchen is, that it all complements the existing house and is unique; no cookie cutter kitchen!
GREAT job! Enjoy!

Blue and Yellow would be a great match with the red/brown. Get accessories first, then choose paint color. We need to see the finished room :)

We installed our wooden deck attached to an artist cottage in our yard about 8 years ago. Even though, it is low to the ground we do not have any rot or unwanted critters. The key I think is to have a roof above in order to keep most heavy rain off and to leave some breathing space between the planks. We do live in the Bay Area where the climate is mild and it helps a lot. We really love it, as it is like a second living room outdoors.

I think the source for the rug in Teagan's Bedroom is incorrect...I have the same one and it is not from IKEA but from RugsUSA. :) I love mine!

Love those!
Interestingly enough, not only are the walls white in these pics but (except for one) the floors are white too. It makes the white walls seem even brighter and the colors in the room really pop.
Having white floors in one room myself, I must say it looks amazing when they are CLEAN. Unfortunately, it is very hard to keep white floors clean, especially when you have little feet running around on them :)
I think, a light grey for painted wood floors may have a similar effect without showing so much dirt etc.

Loving White Walls: Rooms with Colorful Furniture Renters Solutions

You could take 2 2x2 Expedits and place one where the kitchen cart is now and the other in the corner. Cut a long board or counter top to fit on top. Voila you have not only a desk, but also more storage for your books, bottles etc. I do have to say the office chair is not very sightly and I would replace it with a simple white one.
Move the table against the wall where the book shelf is now and hang some art work. The bookshelf is visually quite heavy and by storing the book in one of the expedit units you won't need it anymore. I love to see how it turns out.

aside from pushing the appliances together and painting them to match, I would also use the same paint color inside the cabinets above (if you can't paint then put fabric at the back or paper. It will tie it all together and look intentional. Perhaps a light blue and grey combo.

Why not go for a "multi" purpose room? Guest/Craft/Library/Living with multi functional furniture such as sofabed/Ikea Billy's used as build-ins with molding and a flip top desk with a chair that can be used as extra seating and desk chair (Craigslist) that way you have more variety.
For the floors: I'd get a large area rug (Rugs USA has AMAZING sales), that would pick up some of the brick/wall color. Cushions and pillows for those fantastic window seats and a warm sunny wall color (thinking yellow/aqua combo)

I have a quick question regarding the old linoleum floors: Did you simply take them up? Did you check first wether the contain asbestos? Depending on the manufacturing date, some may contain asbestos I have been told. Just wondering.....

I would say save your money on refinishing the wood floors- I think they look great.
Instead, use that money to either open up the kitchen to the living room (if the landlord lets you) OR get rid of the double sink/cabinet in the bathroom and get something less outdated. The sink area is the first thing you see when you enter the bathroom and having an updated version and a new light fixture would do wonders in there.
I am excited to see how it turns out!
